Karriere eines Puppenhauses - Career of a dollhouse

Meine Kollegin weiß, dass ich Puppenhäuser sammle und sie erzählte mir vom großen Holzpuppenhaus ihrer beiden Töchter, das bis kurz vor Schluss auf dem Flohmarkt keinen Käufer fand. Plötzlich interessierte sich doch jemand dafür, bezahlte ohne zu handeln ihren verlangten Preis und erklärte, dass das Haus ein ideales Übungsobjekt für die Feuerwehrausbildung sei. Verschiedene Ursachen eines Brandes im Wohnhaus und die Bekämpfung könnten hier am Miniaturhaus bestens demonstriert werden. So konnte sie ihren Töchtern abends stolz von der neuen wichtigen Aufgabe ihres ausgedienten Puppenhauses berichten.

My colleague knows of my dolls house passion and told me the story of her daughters' old wooden doll house which had not found a buyer on a local flea market until the last hour. Suddenly someone paid the price without even negotiating. He declared the house to be the ideal teaching aid for the fire brigade. Various causes of a fire in a house and the fire-fighting could be demonstrated very well on this miniature house. 
In the evening my collegue could tell her daughters proudly of the important job their old dollhouse had now to fulfill.
