Was weiß ich über CaHo Biegepuppen? Nicht viel - einige Brocken von der Caco-Homepage und aus Marcie Tubbs Buch z.B. dass der Name sich aus Canzler und Hoffmann, den beiden Firmengründern, herleitet und dass die Firma die Biegepuppen ab Ende der 1920er herstellte. Nach dem Krieg baute sich einer der Partner im Westen Deutschlands, in Coburg, eine neue Firma auf und nannte sie Caco (Fritz Canzler Coburg). Dort werden die Biegepuppen noch heute hergestellt.
What do I know about CaHo dolls ? Sadly not much, some scraps of information from the firm's homepage and from Marcie Tubbs book. The name derives from Canzler and Hoffmann, the two founders of the firm who produced posable dolls since the end of the 1920s. After the war the firm ceased to exist and one of the partners - Fritz Canzler - started with a new company in the West German town of Coburg, hence the new name CaCo after 1945. They still produce posable dolls today.
Diese Anzeige von 1951 ("Das Spielzeug") ist wohl aus der Übergangsphase, die Firma heißt immer noch CaHo und der alte Standort in Ostdeutschland, Sonneberg/Thüringen, und der neue in Westdeutschland, Coburg, werden noch beide genannt.

Wer produziert hier denn welche Art von Biegepuppen? Herr Canzler war im Westen und Herr Hoffmann war in den 50ern gestorben. Und wie sahen denn 60er Jahre CaHo Puppen aus? Ich kenne nur 60er Jahre Biegepuppen von CaCo. Gibt es CaHo Biegepuppen in einer Verpackung ohne den D.R.G.M.-Patentschutz? Sind das dann CaHo-DDR-Puppen? Nicht, wie bis jetzt vermutet, aus den 30ern, sondern vielleicht bis zu 20 Jahre jünger?
Müssen wir die Geschichte dieser Firma umschreiben?
Who exactly was manufacturing in Sonneberg? Mr Canzler had gone into the West of Germany and Mr Hoffmann had died during the 50s. And how did these CaHo posable dolls of the 60s look like? I only know 60s CaCo dolls. Are there CaHo posable dolls in a box without the D.R.G.M. patent - and are these dolls CaHo-GDR-dolls? Up to 20 years younger than we thought CaHo dolls to be?
Do we have to rewrite this firm's history?
